Website Survey

Following the redesign of the website in early 2022, we are evaluating the way that it serves the purpose of communicating the vision of the EP and connecting EP folks throughout the year in between annual Gatherings. Please take a few moments to answer some questions about your usage of the website and what we might do to further enhance its features.

Aging and the Church

Church of the Servant King (Portland) and Church of the Sojourners (San Francisco) are hosting a gathering April 19-20 (in Portland and online) to explore belonging in the Body of Christ in the context of aging. Dr. Sarah Jean Barton, Occupational Therapist and theologian with a dual appointment in the Duke School of Medicine and the Duke Divinity School, will explore

  • What does it look like to belong to the Body of Christ when our physical bodies are failing?

  • How do we understand discipleship when our ability to "do" begins to decline?

  • How might our understanding of "Christian vocation" be too small?

Dr. Barton is also author of the book Becoming the Baptized Body: Disability and the Practice of Christian Community. Registration and details are available here. Registration closes 4/12/24.
