“Remembering Where We Live:
Reorienting Ourselves for Hospitality”
Before we can invite others into our lives, it is necessary to have a clear understanding of just what we are inviting them into. Much of the distortion about hospitality comes from a confusion about the nature of our “home.” Are we citizens or Christians, first? Will our guests be crossing national boundaries or entering sacred space? Trinitarian worship is the necessary place where Christians both receive and are enabled to extend God’s hospitality to the world, a Divine hospitality that is at once both strange and abundant.
