Visit Charlie Pardue's blog for audio files of the first day of Gathering 2007. I highly recommend that you start with the afternoon worship service or Phil Kenneson's talk, "What are we doing here?" (My opening remarks are mainly logistical announcements, and thus not very interesting.) Here are my own reflections on Day 1:  Opening worship for Gathering 2007 was a spirited service, with our joyful singing filling the massive stone cavern where we're meeting this year. Our worship leader, David Butzu, guided us from the piano through his playing and singing. Andrew Adam was our liturgist and Margaret Adam our lector. Sharon Huey preached on "God's Startling Revolution," rooted in the text of Matthew 4:23-5:16 and in her wisdom as pastor of Grace Fellowship Community Church.  The opening plenary saw Phil Kenneson address the question "What Are We Doing Here?" to the topic of congregational formation.
