At The Ekklesia Project board meeting this weekend, I asked myself who is reading our forums these days? Are they serving at least some of our endorsers well? I confess that I don't know the answer to that question. But I'd like to. Please reply to this query if you are involved in the forums, and mention briefly what you get out of them.

They don't seem to be getting a great deal of usage as far as posting, but I check them at least once a week. What's missing is that nobody (myself included) is starting much in the way of discussion threads these days, so there is little to respond to.

They have great potential as an organizing tool, but only if people use them. I tried to start up an online discussion board for my home congregation, but so many of the parishioners are so elderly they don't have the first clue how to utilize forums such as this one. It fizzled out quickly after I realized nobody was responding to the things I was posting.

I think you're right that hardly anyone writes much.

I confess I've not been active at all on the boards since our most recent gathering in Chicago. It was an extremely busy semester, and I suspect similar academic and ecclesial commitments are often the reason so many people come and go.

Oddly enough, the very week I recommit to making the effort to get back on the forums is the very week this thread sits atop the forum.

I read the forums, albeit not very regularly and I never comment. I'm relatively new to EP and basically poke around the site every couple weeks. I enjoy reading the various posts. Jaimee
