About Us

The Ekklesia Project is a network of Christians who are discovering a uniting and empowering friendship rooted in our common love of God and the Church. We share four core convictions; do various things to strengthen the church and encourage one another; and continually seek out new friendships.

Historically, The Ekklesia Project began in 1999 as a conversation among 13 theologians eager to find ways to connect the church’s scholars to its pastors and laity. They issued a “Declaration and Invitation,” inviting “Christians from all walks of life to join us.” Today, that invitation has been accepted by more than a thousand endorsers Organized as a 501(c)3 in 2002, EP has a 15 member board of directors comprised of pastors, laity and scholars.
